Procreate 4 – exclusively for iPad – is a professional piece of painting software good enough that I’ve switched to using it as my main software for producing illustration work, and recently the artist James Jean created this brilliant poster for Bladerunner 2049 using it.
It’s probably easiest to think of the differences between Procreate 4 on the iPad and Procreate Pocket on the iPhone as different drawing tools that share some of the same DNA. Procreate is a completely different beast depending on which platform you use it on. Procreate 4 arrived last month with some hot new features, and with an update for Procreate Pocket on the way we asked illustrator James Boswell to give us his thoughts on both versions of the digital painting app.
